Our philosophy can best be described by the word marketing. With over thirty-five (35) years of experience in multiple levels and facets of business, in such areas as production, operations and primarily in marketing, we view the Internet as fast becoming the most effective and efficient marketing medium. It provides a forum for improved communication between virtually any groups or individuals. The business community has recognized this fact and public service, governmental, charitable, non-profit organizations and even individuals are beginning to embrace the Internet as the most important means of distributing their messages. Marketing is defined broadly as the activities of an organization associated with buying and selling a product or service. It includes advertising, selling and delivering products to people. The four "P's" of marketing are product, place, price and promotion. But marketing, in a larger sense, is everything a company does to acquire customers and maintain a relationship with them. In this expanded context, marketing applies to much of what we as human beings do, whether it is "selling" our ideas to another person, projecting the image of a political candidate, convincing citizens that their government is hard at work for them and thus their tax dollars are well spent, or bringing a family together through better communications. All of this brings us back to the philosophy. Your website is a marketing tool. It must be a clear and convincing statement as to why the customer or viewer should "buy" from you. It should be a well designed, well constructed, grammatically correct projection of your organization and its product or service; one that is designed to put you in the best light and induce the viewer to buy or at the very least to contact you for further information. Finally, it must be coordinated with your other marketing efforts to be effective. This is not the field of dreams, just because you build it does not mean they will come. |
